Meet Lisa: welcome to my farmhouse kitchen
Hello! I’m Lisa Luxmoore, and I've always had a passionate love for food and cooking. From an early age, you would find me hanging around near the kitchen, interested in what was going on and having little tastes of whatever was being made at the time. I was most definitely the adventurous child who eagerly tried everything —whether it was hot mustard, chilli sauce, or any dish that made an appearance!
I loved spending time in the kitchen alongside my Anglo-Turkish mother where I learned to create a variety of dishes such as my Turkish grandfathers lentil soup and bulgar pilaf. As I grew older, I began to explore my Indian heritage from my father’s side and my fondness for cooking continued to grow, especially my love for Indian cuisine. I’ve been cooking now for over 30 years. Cooking serves as my tonic; it brings me immense joy to see others savouring my creations. My kitchen is my happy place!
My sourdough adventure started in March 2020 during the beginning of lockdown. It was a journey of trials, errors, and much learning. I had heard that sourdough was good for your gut and having suffered various ailments from eating supermarket bread, I took the plunge and created my own sourdough starter from scratch.
It wasn’t all plain sailing and I’m sorry to say that I subjected my husband and family to some absolute disasters, from frisbee shaped loaves to rock hard bricks! After countless hours of research and experimentation, I eventually developed a foolproof method, cutting through the jargon to create delicious, professional-looking loaves every time without the need to knead and without a commercial kitchen. It is possible to bake outstanding sourdough in your own domestic kitchen and I will show you how!
Sharing my food and passion with friends and neighbours inspired me to launch these workshops, bringing my tried-and-tested techniques to you. I'm so glad you're here to be a part of this story.
About My Kitchen
My kitchen is set within a Grade II listed 500-year old medieval farmhouse which we are lovingly restoring. The house was empty for 37 years before 2018 when we moved in.
Officially derelict when we arrived, we have been busy repairing this amazing house, taking our time to understand its history and make it our home. There’s still a long way to go, but nevertheless, we are proud of our progress to date and I look forward to welcoming you to my cookery workshops.

My scrumptious sourdough
My scrumptious sourdough is the result of years of practice and dedicated honing. I use a no knead method so it’s suitable for all, including those with hand issues. I've guided many friends and clients to successfully create delicious, professional-looking loaves using my unique method and recipe. What makes it special? I've stripped away the complex steps and the mystique often associated with sourdough. My technique is tried, tested, and proven to work for anyone, ensuring you achieve perfect results without the overwhelming jargon.

Generations of delectable flavour
Beyond sourdough, I share traditional family curry recipes that have been lovingly passed down through generations. Every family has its distinct way of crafting curries and other Indian dishes, and this rich heritage is what truly sets me apart. My recipes bring you authentic Indian flavours, perfected over time, offering a taste experience you won't find anywhere else, not even a takeaway.

Beyond the recipe: confidence in every dish
When you leave one of my workshops, I want you to feel more than just satisfied – I want you to feel elated, motivated, and truly happy. My greatest hope is that you'll gain the confidence not only to recreate the delicious food you've made in my kitchen but also to explore and develop your own unique twist on what you've learned. It's about empowering you to become a confident, creative cook and baker in your own right.
